Five seniors accept ECC scholarships

Five high school seniors, including two from Iowa Falls-Alden High School, have accepted scholarships to attend Ellsworth Community College in the fall.

Marina Lindsay and Trevor Smith, both seniors at IF-A High School, have each accepted a $1,600 Academic Scholarship and a $400 Leadership Scholarship. Lindsay plans to study Agriculture Science/Agribusiness and Smith will study Business Administration.

Alex Muhlenburg of Story City, a senior at Roland-Story High School, has accepted three scholarships to study Criminal Justice and play baseball at Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls. The scholarships include a $1,000 Career & Technical Scholarship, a $500 Housing Grant, and a Baseball Scholarship.

Evan Jackson of Clinton, a senior at Clinton High School, has also accepted three scholarships to study Business Administration and play baseball at Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls. The scholarships include a $1,000 Career & Technical Scholarship, an $800 Leadership Scholarship, and a Baseball Scholarship.

Lastly, Rhia Lee of Encinitas, CA, a senior at San Dieguito Academy, has accepted two scholarships to study Liberal Arts at Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls, IA. The scholarships include a $500 Legacy Scholarship (offered to children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of past ECC graduates) and a $1,000 Housing Grant.

“Ellsworth Community College students have the 17th highest success rate in the nation, and our graduates have one of the lowest average student debt loads in the state due to our generous scholarship and financial aid packages,” says Sydni Fenner, ECC Admissions/Financial Aid Specialist. “We’re pleased to be able to offer these scholarships to Alex, and we look forward to having him on campus next fall!”
