Register now for ECC Winter Interim classes

Registration is now open for Ellsworth Community College’s Winter Interim term, which runs Dec. 14 through Jan. 5. Most of the short-term, intensive courses are online but a Coaching Authorization series is offered partially on campus as well.
“The short-term, online nature of our Winter Interim courses makes it a convenient way for college students to take an extra class or two during their holiday break,” says Adriane Sietsema, Admissions Director. “What we often see are students who want to pick up an extra class now to ease their academic load for Spring Term, or those who didn’t do well in a particular class wanting the opportunity to re-take the subject and bring their grade up.” She says some of the Winter Interim students will be current ECC students, but others will enroll while on break from other colleges and universities. All of ECC’s Winter Interim courses are transferrable.
Sietsema says the Coaching Authorization program is also a popular one, attracting area parents and educators who want to work with a variety of youth sporting programs. The entire 5 credit Coaching Authorization series, taught by ECC Head Women’s Basketball Coach Ed Geitz, runs from 8 am to 4 pm for just four days, Dec. 14-17. Those who need just one or more of the separate Coaching Authorization component classes can enroll in those individually as well. The Ethics, Techniques & Theory, Body Structure & Function and Care & Prevention of Athletic Injuries are offered on campus; the Athletic Human Growth & Development component is offered online.
Registration for Winter Interim courses is now open, and it should be completed before the term begins on Monday, Dec. 14. Course offerings can be seen in the online class schedule on the ECC website at www.EllsworthCollege.com (go to Resources for Students, then Class Schedules), or by stopping by the ECC Student Services Offices on the second floor in Gentle Student Center.
